Fisher Companies roots date back to the 1950s when Bob Fisher joined forces with Harry Gunderson to form Fisher/Riesdorf Construction. In 1975 Fisher formed his own company with his son Jerome, and later changed to Fisher & Sons when Bob's second son joined the company.
In the late 1970s John Bustad, an icon in the construction industry, joined with the Fishers and merged his construction business with theirs. John brought with him extensive experience in food processing and cold storage construction.
To maintain the privately-held company for the long-term, Fisher transitioned from a family-owned business to employee-owned corporation. This this process began in 1996 with the introduction of company shareholders. Today the company has 13 shareholders and is managed by an eight person Board of Directors.
